Carlton Outdoor Education Centre

Carlton OEC is residential centre based on the edge of the picturesque North Yorkshire Moors. The centre can be booked on a fully catered or self catered basis and day visits are most welcome. The centre can sleep up to 80 people in a mix of single and multi bedded rooms. A main focus of Carlton Centre is provision of outdoor education for primary and secondary schools.  We hold an Adventure Activities License, Adventure mark and the Learning Outside the Classroom quality badge.

Activities include bushcraft, caving, rock climbing both outdoors and indoors, camp-fires, camping, canoeing, gorge walking, bouldering, shelter building, mining, high and low ropes course, archery, expeditions and lots more. The centre has disabled access and most activities can be delivered to groups of varying ability range.

Community groups, Sports Clubs and Social Clubs also make use of Carlton Outdoor Education Centre to host activity weekends and training camps. The centre is close to many long distance walking routes and fell running opportunities. There is excellent cycling terrain for the off roader and road cyclist alike. The 2016 Tour de Yorkshire passes within a mile of the facility.
